Makes 2 cocktails
Ingredients:
For cocktail:
- 2 ounces gin
- 1 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 1 ounce simple syrup
- 6 ounces Champagne or Prosecco
- Lemon twist, for garnish
For simple syrup:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- To make: place one cup of water and once cup of sugar in a small sauce pan and heat over low until the sugar is dissolved. Swirl to combine and let cool. It will keep for a month in the refrigerator.
A few notes on making this:
- This cocktail requires simple syrup— don’t buy it— it’s much better to make it yourself and is truly simple to make.
Directions:
- Add gin, lemon juice and simple syrup to cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake vigorously and pour into champagne flute or coupe.
- Top with champagne and garnish with a twist of lemon. Cheers!
