The United States has given $4.4 billion to Haiti since 2010 to help them recover from the earthquake.

But according to a new report, billions of dollars in contracts that were meant to help with recovery and humanitarian efforts were given to D.C. firms.

Those firms pocketed 56 percent of the contracts, with those in Haiti only getting 2 percent, and most of that money was spent on 'administrative fees'.

In addition, according to the report, The Red Cross raised $500 million dollars for their Haiti recovery efforts, promising to build 130,000 people homes. However, they only managed to build six in the last 15 years.

A review of the organizations was started in an effort to track down the money, and how it was spent. However of the 196 NGOs who were contacted, only eight responded and could explain where some of money went.

Of the $1.4 billion they reported receiving, they could only explain how $730 million was spent.

This is the latest in a long line of organizations who can’t explain how hundreds of millions of dollars were spent after Elon Musk and DOGE started auditing where American taxpayer dollars are going.
