Democrats Lining Up Behind What Could Be Largest Expansion of Government in Decades

Democrats are increasingly lining up to support self-described Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her proposed “Green New Deal.”
The Daily Caller reports more than 40 Democratic lawmakers now support the incoming Democratic representative’s so-called “Green New Deal” as part of a broad plan to fight global warming and bring about what they call “economic, social and racial justice.”
While details of the plan are vague, the proposal could be the largest expansion of government since the Great Society or New Deal of the 1930s.
Ocasio-Cortez’s plan could also cost tens of trillions of dollars.
A recent poll found most Americans supported the deal, even though they knew little about it.
