After eight years of leading the independent label to great success — from earning 285 million lifetime streams across platforms, brokering a distribution deal with Capitol Christian Music Group to releasing Billboard-charting projects — Melody is finally ready to make her own voice heard.
“It’s important to me that ‘Back To Praise’ is life-giving,” Melody said. “We live in an era where everything pulls at our energy and focus, and my goal is to release music that helps redirect our hearts and minds to that which is praiseworthy.”
“Back to Praise” is a five-track EP with a soundscape resembling that of 2000s singer-songwriter artists such as Sara Bareilles, Vanessa Carlton and Natasha Bedingfield. Melody’s debut Christian EP comes off the heels of Influence Music winning the “Chorus Award” (church worship album of the year) at the 13th Annual We Love Christian Music Awards for their album “Day & Night (Live at Influence Church).”
The EP starts with “Closer Than I Know,” a heartfelt anthem reminding us of God’s unwavering love and presence in our lives. The second track, “So Good,” proclaims God’s “simply breathtaking” ability to provide us peace when we open our hearts to Him. “Back To Praise” calls on those to continue praising God even when they are deep in the valleys of life. “God’s Got This” reassures listeners that God can handle all the troubles we present to Him. “Beautiful Life” closes out the EP, reminding us to enjoy the abundant life God has given us.
After years of writing for secular pop artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Melody felt a pull to dedicate her craft to Christian music. This divine calling led Melody to co-found Influence Music in 2017, where she was instrumental in creating the worship collective’s iTunes no. 1 and Billboard no. 2 album, “Touching Heaven” (2018).
To date, Melody’s music has amassed over 228 million streams across digital platforms. Guided by the timeless creed “Soli Deo gloria” — ��Glory to God alone” — Melody continues to write songs that inspire faith and encourage worship.
