TEACHING: "How & Why We Give" (Biblical Giving) 10-3-15 (Session 1)

We have decided that we needed to revisit our Bible Study on Biblical Giving (How & Why We Give). So, we are using the same outline and Power Point presentation, but we are going to try and teach it this time in a "marathon" fashion, working more swiftly through the course of the study. So, in an effort to present this teaching in a better way, Pastor Charles is re-teaching it. Even if you remember the former study, we believe you will find this go-round far more uplifting and inspirational, as well as deeply educational.

The Mind of God (in a University)

We begin a series on the University. Why has God given them to us? What can they teach us about the mind of Christ?

“The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom.
Though it cost all you have, get understanding.”
Proverbs 4:7, NIV

Do You Know Yourself - Pt 1

Pastor Joel addresses the critical question about identity and the false masks that we find ourselves putting on. In this first part, Joel will present Jesus' teaching about our True Self as presented in Luke 11

Don't Quit Too Soon! Pt. 3

Charles & Kelli Vance are dedicated to teaching the Word of God in an in-depth yet simple way. Their goal is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the globe, to destroy the effects of religious tradition on the believer, and to empower the Body of Christ with the Word of God and the presence of the Holy Spirit. This broadcast is designed to do all of the above!

The Decalogue: Will You Be My Neighbor?

Southside Baptist Church
November 1, 2015 - Evening Service
Exodus 20:13-16

Summary: As we continue our examination of the 10 Commandments, we take a closer look at the 6th through 9th Commandments. While these Commandments might seem basic and straight-forward, we discover that they are actually far more expansive than we normally realize, and we consider the implications for how we live our lives and how we relate to others.

Listening for God: God is Calling

Southside Baptist Church
November 1, 2015 - Morning Service
1 Samuel 3:1-19

Summary: As we look at the story of the prophet Samuel receiving his calling from God into the ministry, we find that it is said that Samuel grew in God's presence and listened so intently that not one of God's words touched the ground. As we look at the story of Samuel, we search for how we can have faith and ears to listen for God's voice in our lives.

1 Corinthians 7:2-22 2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. 3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. 4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. 5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. 6 But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.

Why Are You a Christian?

Why do you accept the label of "christian"? Were you raised in a christian home? Does personal gain keep you in church? Or was there a very distinct event that made you a christian? Pastor Richard Axmann explores some of the reasons we call ourselves christian.

1 Corinthians 2:9-16

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

"We Are Blessed"

Pastor Dunbar bases today's sermon on the Beatitudes of Matthew 5, reminding us that we are blessed now and in the coming age when we enter our heavenly home and death is swallowed up by eternal life.

Part II - THE GOOD & THE EVIL

AMOS 5:14

11-1-15 MESSAGE: "Can You See Him?"

We are called to pursue holiness if we are to have any hope of seeing the Lord. But just what does this really entail? A very powerful, enlightening, and inspirational message that will lead believers to a place of revelation and understanding!

Come To Jesus

Matthew 28:11

Isaiah 55

Denomination - distinct understanding of a faith

The body of Jesus Christ is one, there are no denominations in Christ

When we are in Him we become the fruit of Christ Jesus.. all God is asking you to do is to come unto Him....you need to seek the Lord..

Matthew 11:28-30
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Matthew 7:15
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Matthew 7:16-20
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Matthew 7:21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 24:24
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
