1 Corinthians 10:12-15

12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry. 15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.

Looking back and lamenting what was or looking forward and rejoicing in what can be... Which way are you looking?

The First Gift of Christmas is the Best Gift

We cannot hear often enough what a miracle Jesus is not only to the world at large but in relationship to us as individuals - He is God's Gift to us. Dr. Charles Revis brings us this refocus from Mathew 3:1-12 and John 3:16.

Keep Your Hopes Up

The church and our lives are in a life of change. CCC itself is going through another big transition and hope in God is the place of peace in uncertain times.
Pastor John gives his encouragement to keep our hope in the God of all Comfort.

Acts 21:1-20

And it came to pass, that after we were gotten from them, and had launched, we came with a straight course unto Coos, and the day following unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara: 2 And finding a ship sailing over unto Phenicia, we went aboard, and set forth. 3 Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden. 4 And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.

"Saving Time"

Pastor Dunbar takes today's lesson from Luke 3: today, life is all about taking shortcuts. But some things need to take time, especially repentance, as John the Baptist reminds us in today's reading.
