Traveling is something we are all familiar with, but few of us enjoy it. While a lot of those feelings depend on the chosen mode of transportation, getting from Point A to Point B is rarely, if ever, a fun time. We just want to reach our destination with our sanity still intact.

However, that is often a tall order, especially when it comes to flying. There are numerous hindrances and unnecessary holdups associated with air travel that most people would rather completely avoid flying altogether. But that is usually not the case, and despite everything horrible and irritating with flying, it’s often the most efficient mode of transportation.

Despite everything awful associated with flying, others may hate it for an entirely different, but very obvious reason. They, for whatever reason, have a fear of flying, which is understandable given how high and fast those planes are when in use. It’s honestly kind of frightening when you think about it, especially if you’re traveling internationally and will be over an ocean for long periods of time.

Well, in a clip posted on YouTube, a pilot came over the plane’s public address system and reassured his passengers that this was going to be a very safe flight. That was going to be the case for one very simple reason: his daughter. He mentioned that his little girl had just learned how to say ice cream, and he wanted nothing more than to get back to her and share a bowl with her.

What an unbelievably sweet moment! I’m sure anyone on that flight who might have been apprehensive about flying felt much better after the pilot’s words.

Everybody is fighting an invisible battle, and with a little kindness, love and grace, we can make a world of difference to someone who is hurting and dealing with heartache. Offering someone something as simple as a hug can be huge, as a clip posted on social media seems to indicate.

At first glance, this seems to be a typical, everyday interaction, a customer picking up his order from a favorite restaurant. But then something truly unexpected happens.

Once the order is bagged up and ready for the customer, the cook opens up his arms to the customer, offering him a hug. The customer responds, welcoming the unexpected invitation of a hug. It quickly becomes clear that the customer badly needed a hug as he holds that embrace longer than expected.

We can never be sure what someone is dealing with or battling, but we can always be kind and show them love and grace.

Proverbs 11:17 “The merciful man does good to his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.”

Law enforcement officers are heroes. They constantly and consistently put their personal safety, and in some cases, even their lives, at risk for others. Yes, someone had reported the massive animal in a parking lot, and so, the officer was unsure what to expect when he arrived.

However, after getting to the scene and realizing that there was no danger whatsoever, the officer took some time to enjoy the moment. He even climbed on top of the animal and took a picture.

A bull in a parking lot isn’t too bad, considering everything else that an officer could be called to while on duty.

Proverbs 12:10 “An upright man has thought for the life of his beast, but the hearts of evildoers are cruel.”

A teacher was moved to tears by a surprise from Secret Santa amid her husband's cancer battle. The tears started flowing soon after she received some unexpected visitors to her classroom. If we only had this thing, then our Christmas would be complete, seems to be the message that most of those ads are pushing. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth.

But there are people all around us who are hurting and in need, and who those people are may surprise you. A powerful clip posted on YouTube makes this point clear, and as the ad mentions, those in need are much closer than you might have initially thought.

The clip begins with a teacher asking her students about the true spirit and meaning of Christmas. The students momentarily break off into small groups to discuss this and eventually come back as a whole to give their teacher their answers. Some of the answers provided are way off the mark, while others are much closer.

Later in the clip, the students are reminded about bringing in items to help those in need. The students are then seen wrapping the items donated, which are then loaded into the back of a vehicle.

However, before the clip ends, viewers get to see the donated items being handed out to those in need, which includes one of the little girls from the classroom.

What a powerful ad that reminds us that need is literally all around us. Even people we know may be struggling and hurting.

Proverbs 19:17 “He who has pity on the poor gives to the Lord, and the Lord will give him his reward.”

For most people, it will be nearly impossible for them not to have some kind of emotional reaction upon viewing this touching and beautiful commercial. Video is a visual medium, and so because of that, it’s always better to use images than a lot of words. It’s always better to show and not tell whenever possible. Why? However, slowly but surely, he builds up his strength even when his neighbor continually turns her noise up at the older man’s efforts. This goes on even though we are left in the dark as to why he is doing this. It’s not until the very end that we learn why he’s been putting in all of this work and effort, and it’s absolutely beautiful!

If they didn’t have one another, their lives would likely be increasingly more challenging than it is already. One of the brothers, as mentioned in the video, is paralyzed from the waist down and requires the use of a wheelchair. To get into a vehicle, it takes his brother to physically lift him, while he is in his chair, and place him in the automobile.

This is undoubtedly a struggle, but they have both come to accept it as a way of life, something they must do. Secret Santa surprised them with a way to change all of that.

They were both clearly touched and moved by the unexpected gift, and even proceeded to tell the Secret Santa, whoever it may be, that they are welcome at their house at any time. Whatever they have, they are willing to share with the one who showed them love.
