Hold on to your seat as a scared deer is freed from a temporary fence by two selfless wildlife rescuers.
Two members of the Wildlife Aid Foundation work bravely to cut away at a temporary fence that had entangled an unlucky deer in the town of Oxted in Surrey, England. Freeing the deer proved to be dangerous work, as the deer’s sharp antlers threatened to hurt the rescuers. The heroes, however, put aside their fears and helped to free the terrified deer.
The Wildlife Aid Foundation rescues all kinds of animals, like birds, foxes, and hedgehogs. Each rescue attempt has its own challenges, but this situation was particularly difficult.
“The most dangerous are always deer,” says the narrator, “With a nasty kick and a tendency to get very stressed if handled, it’s vital to approach any deer rescue calmly but quickly.”
After the deer is freed, it runs straight into the woods. To avoid further accidents, the homeowner takes down the remaining temporary fence, vowing never to use it again. This considerate act will surely prevent any other animals from getting trapped.
Wildlife Aid Foundation, based in the United Kingdom, has been rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife for over 40 years. The foundation works with volunteer rescuers, veterinarians, and caretakers to protect and care for animals in dire situations.
The Wildlife Aid Foundation’s mission states, “Each and every animal plays its own part in preserving the balance of nature. At WAF, no British wild animal, from any species, is ever turned away if it needs our help.”
The kindness and care that the Wildlife Aid Foundation and its volunteers show to all of Britain’s animals, both big and small, is a reminder of the compassion that should be shown to all of God’s creation.
“And God created great whales and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” Genesis 1:21.
